KB14932: How to enable the ‘Prompt Ordering’ option in a Report Services document in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x - 10.x

SYMPTOM:
When users create a Report Services document and set a report with multiple prompts as a data set, users cannot find the 'Prompt Ordering' option under the Data menu in Strategy Developer 9.x - 10.x.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce this issue in the Strategy Tutorial project:
 

• Create a simple report with multiple prompts, as shown below:
  

• Use the report as a data set in a Report Services document. After placing data fields into any section, click Save. Go to the Data menu and notice that the Prompt Ordering option does not appear, as shown below:
  

CAUSE:
The 'Prompt Order' option will appear only after the following criteria are met:
 

1. Data fields or the report grid must be present in the sections (Header, Detail Header, Detail, etc…) of the document.
2. The document must be executed at least once.

ACTION:
Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:
 

• Put data fields into any section.
• Execute the document. Go back to Design View and note that the 'Prompt Ordering' option shows up under the Data menu, as shown below:
