KB222082: The Date Selection widget has different requirements in MicroStrategy Web and MicroStrategy Mobile 9.3.x

The Date Selection widget requires exactly one attribute with a Date form

In Strategy Mobile 9.3.x:

The Calendar requires: 
- at least two attributes on the row axis; the first attribute must be of date type
- any metrics to be placed on the column axis; attributes are not allowed in this axis
- a wdith of 560 pixels or more and a height of 410 pixels or more

CAUSE
This is working as designed in Strategy Web and Mobile 9.3.x. The reason that there are different requirements for Strategy Web and Strategy Mobile is that the widget functions differently in the two locations.  In Strategy Web, the widget is simply a calendar with the ability to pick a date. Refer to tech note KB39626 for more information on this widget.
In Strategy Mobile, the widget is a calendar that also displays secondary attributes and metrics in addition to the date.  The second required attribute in Strategy Mobile is for the use of the search function which can be used by tapping on the magnifying glass in the upper-right corner of the widget. Refer to tech note KB41434 for more information on this widget.
ACTION
Based on the requirements seen above, the Date Selection widget cannot be configured to work simultaneously in both Strategy Web and Strategy Mobile.  If users need to have the Date Selection widget on a document, that document should only be run in either Strategy Web or Strategy Mobile.  If the document is required to run in both locations, two separate documents should instead be created; one for Strategy Web and one for Strategy Mobile so that users do not see an error message in one location.
