KB37447: "An ASP.NET setting has been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode" error comes back when trying to access Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5 from MicroStrategy 9.x and 10.x TM1 connector.

SYMPTOM:
After installing the Strategy TM1 Connector on Windows 2008 with Microsoft Internet Information Services 7.5 and trying to test the connection to Web Services using http://localhost/MicroStrategyXmla/MicroStrategyXmla.asmx, the following error message appear in the browser window:

An ASP.NET setting has been detected that does not apply in Integrated managed pipeline mode.
 
 
CAUSE:
The incorrect Application Pool was selected for the Strategy 9.x and 10.x TM1 Connector in the virtual directory.
 
ACTION:
The Administrator needs to configure the Classic Application Pool. To do this, follow the steps below:
 
 
 
 

• Open the Internet Information Manager (inetmgr) 
• Open the application pool tree, as shown below: 
   
  

• Select the application pool: StrategyXmlaPool and Right Click Basic Settings, as shown below:
   
  

• Change in Managed pipeline mode to Classic, as shown below:
