Input Method Editors (IMEs) cannot be enabled by single click on the Comments of MicroStrategy Library 10.9 with Internet Explorer

• Strategy

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

Users can use comments on Dossier through Strategy Library to communicate with other members of the enterprise. Some users may find the Input Method Editors(IME) cannot be enabled by a single click action on the comment box while using Internet Explorer. The users notice that only English letters can be inputted. Languages like Chinese, Japanese and Korean are all affected with this issue. Please review the steps to reproduce for more details.

Steps to reproduce

1) Access Strategy Library with Internet Explorer.
2) Run a Dossier and click on the Comments icon.
3) Try to enable IME for Chinese, Japanese or Korean.
4) Note that the IME cannot be enabled by single click.

Why is this happening?

This is a known issue in Strategy Library 10.9, and has been fixed in Strategy 10.10.
Our engineering teams is constantly working to enhance the Strategy experience for our users.

Solution

To avoid this issue, try using the Chrome browser rather than Internet Explorer.
Users can also use a double click, rather than single click, on the comment box to enable the IME.
