1. How did you get into the technology field?
Bulent Dal, who is the CEO of OBASE, which is one of the biggest international Strategy partners, asked me to be the first Strategy resource in the organization, and I just accepted the offer. This was one of the most critical and life-changing decisions I made in my life, and I am still glad that I made it.
2. What’s your favorite part of Community?
I would say Knowledge Base. Almost all the time, I was able to find an answer to my questions, which gives me a lot of comfort while doing my job.
3. What’s your favorite topic to write about?
Anything referring to a business problem rather than technical or coding issues. I love solving problems probably because of my mathematician background. Understanding the dynamics of problems and coming up with a solution using all the functionalities and power that Strategy provides us makes me so happy and satisfied. I feel like being challenged, and this what I am looking for. Probably, that is why, all the time, I look for complex, logical, unanswered questions in the Discussion page of Strategy Community and try to find out a solution for them, even developing new mathematical formulas if it is necessary.
4. Name one feature you would like to add to Community.
It looks great and works perfectly for me, and I cannot think of any additional functionalities.
5. Why Strategy (as a product)?
For me, providing high-quality service for my internal/external clients and going beyond their expectations is really important, and it is my goal since the first day I started my BI career at OBASE in 1999. To be able to achieve that, having just this desire is not enough; you need to have all the right tools and applications as well. Strategy is giving me what I need to be able to deliver my promises. For most people and organizations, Strategy may look like a complex BI tool, but for me, it refers to the necessary power to meet business users' constantly changing, complex BI needs.
