1. How did you get into the technology field?
I grew up in the days of landline phone that transitioned into cordless, and now, mobile phones, iPad, etc. Changes or disruptions that happened in any technology field made me very curious to study about it. I completed my Bachelor of Engineering, and since then, have been working in Business Intelligence.
2. What’s your favorite part of Community?
Knowledge Base and discussions are my favorite part of community. Most of my doubts gets cleared from Knowledge Base, and discussions give me a lot of ideas and questions to ponder as people from around the world share their thoughts and difficulties on the forum. I also like the Learning Center (Tutorials) a lot, as it has become a one-stop destination to learn Strategy and we can choose videos and tutorials by specific roles.
3. What’s your favorite topic to write about?
I don’t have a specific favourite topic, but answering questions with clear steps to people's queries is my favourite part of writing/participating in Community or any other forum. I write to simplify things. When I read a blog or Knowledge Base that I am not able to follow, it makes me realize that something at the layman level is missing, so I just try to cover that layman level as well in what I write.
4. Name one feature you would like to add to Community.
Adding threaded discussion functionality in Discussions/comments will present views of an individual contributor in a more readable and presentable format with a high level of visibility in terms of what exactly they need and what they wanted to convey.
5. Why Strategy (as a product)?
Well, I used Strategy as a product, in initial days, because I was born in IT with this technology. It was like Strategy chose me. In my initial days, I just assumed that all the other BI tools worked similar to Strategy. When I got chance to learn two other high-rated BI tools in the market, I realized the part in these tools which leads to the most struggle is a huge volume of data, which we do not have to stress a lot about in Strategy, as there is a SQL engine to build queries for your reporting, an analytical engine to do calculations, an intelligence server acting as a heart of the whole reporting environment, and I could go on naming components of Strategy that do all the heavy lifting for the reporting that we need in the modern day. The capabilities that Strategy, as an enterprise analytics tool, offers is immense. Now, I choose Strategy.
