Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
Prior to Strategy 2020, it was not possible to install the Intelligence Server without installing the PDF Exporter component. If you checked the box for "Intelligence" in your installation, the PDF Exporter component would automatically be installed along with the Intelligence Server.
Strategy 2020 now allows you to decouple the installation of the Intelligence Server from the PDF Exporter. When you launch the Strategy Installation Wizard, you can check the box for Strategy Intelligence without having to check the box for Export.
This way, it is possible to install the Intelligence Server without concurrently installing the PDF Exporter and vice versa.
You should be aware that if the PDF Exporter is not installed with the Intelligence Server, then dossiers exported to PDF will fail, unless the Intelligence Server is connected to a remote instance of the PDF Exporter. Note: It will be necessary to create the keys referenced in the above documentation if they do not already exist.
For example, if the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\DSS Server\PDFExporter] entry does not exist in the MSIReg.reg file, then it will need to be created prior to creating the "host" subkey.
