This knowledge base article describes the error 'Object variable or with block variable not set' that occur when trying to edit an attribute in a duplicated project after applying 10.4 Hotfix 8.

SYMPTOM
After applying Strategy 10.4 Hotfix 8, the below error message occur in a newly duplicated project when editing any attribute:

Object variable or with block variable not set

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1) Apply Strategy 10.4 Hotfix 8 to two different Strategy 10.4 environments.
2) Duplicate a project from environment one into environment two
3) Navigate to schema objects folder > attributes and edit any attribute in the duplicated project, the ‘object variable or with block variable not set’ error message appears.

CAUSE
This is a known issue with Project Duplication in Strategy 10.4 Hotfix 8.

ACTION
A global patch is available to be applied to Strategy 10.4 Hotfix 8 and attached in this article. Follow the bundled Readme file to apply this patch to Developer machines performing project duplication. Projects will need to be reduplicated after the patch has been applied.
