Chris Spasevski

Product Specialist • Strategy

When running a Freeform SQL report that previously had a prompt within its definition, the previous prompt will still appear in the report execution. Answering the prompt has no bearing on the SQL used for the report.

SYMPTOM:
When running a Freeform SQL report that previously had a prompt within its definition, the previous prompt will still appear in the report execution. Answering the prompt has no bearing on the SQL used for the report.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1.) Create a Freeform SQL with a prompt in definition and save report.
2.) Edit the same report and remove the prompt from the definition.
3.) Re-execute report and note that prompt still appears in GUI. However, when answered the prompt is not applied in the report and doesn’t appear in the SQL.

CAUSE: This is a known defect in Strategy 10.0 – 10.4 Hotfix 5, and 10.5 – 10.9.

ACTION: Fixed in Strategy 10.4 Hotfix 6 and above, as well as Strategy 10.10 and above. Upgrade to those versions to take advantage of the fix.
