There are certain instances when deleting fonts can result in the inability to display symbols when a document is exported in PDF form. In particular, there are certain fonts required in the fonts folder and the PDFGeneratorFiles folder in order for the symbols to appear.
The New Export Engine (NEE) uses the fonts folder located on the operating system when exporting Quick Symbols into PDF. For Strategy 10.6 and above, ensure the following three fonts are present in the fonts folder in order to see quick symbols in the PDF export.
Once you've confirmed these three fonts appear, utilize the following command to update your cache:
fc-cache -f /usr/share/fonts
If quick symbols are not showing in documents exported as PDFs, ensure the same three fonts appear in the MSTR/HOME/install/PDFGeneratorFiles folder on the Linux machine where the Strategy Intelligence Server is installed.
After, restart your Strategy Intelligence Server for the changes to take affect.
