KB484115: After upgrading to MicroStrategy 2020, sending a subscription out to multiple recipients results in users receiving multiple copies of the same subscription

• Strategy

This article explains why, after upgrading to MicroStrategy 2020, sending a subscription to several users may result in those users receiving numerous copies of the same subscription.

Description

After upgrading from Strategy 2019 to Strategy 2020 and using the Configuration Wizard to upgrade the metadata to 2020, subscriptions begin to work incorrectly. For example, if there are three subscription recipients, then three copies of the same email will be sent to all recipients.

Why is this happening?

This is a known issue in Strategy 2020.

Solution

This issue is currently being investigated by Strategy's Technology team. For an immediate solution, use the following workaround.

Workaround

To resolve this issue, Strategy recommends disabling the feature Group recipients in a single email when device and bucketing rules are the same.

  • Open Strategy Web.
  • Click your Account drop-down and choose Preferences.
  • Under Preferences Level, click Project Defaults.
  • Under Preferences, click General.
  • Under Features for Customer Feedback, set Group recipients in a single email when device and bucketing rules are the same to Off.
