This Knowledge Base article describes how some users are still able to see object outside of a designated reports search folder despite browsing to all objects being disabled and the code fix introduced to advert the issue.

SYMPTOM
When giving users the possibility of creating reports from scratch, after creating different templates for different business needs. For every such template different subsets of attributes and metrics are expected to be available to use in the newly created reports. In order to do that, for each template the Web Browsing Options have been specified:
- "Allow browsing to All Objects" has been disabled
- a dedicated folder has been specified as root folder for browsing
This functionality works for browsing and searching from the left hand side ALL OBJECTS pane, when creating a new report from this template in Web - the search results are from within the root folder specified for this template.
However, when the search from report grid is used - then the search is done in the entire project and users can see objects that should not be seen from this particular template.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.- Create a report template with the
2.- Select in that report template the following options (Data -> Report Web Browsing options):
- "Allow browsing to All Objects" has been disabled
- A dedicated folder has been specified as root folder for browsing.
3.- Create a simple metric outside the folder specified in the options above (see screenshot 03)
4.- In MSTR Web create a report based on the previously created template (see screenshot 04)
5.- When searching fo r the created metric in the ALL OBJECTS section no results are shown, which is OK as the metric is outside the root folder specified in the template and the Allow browsing to All objects has been disabled.
6.- In the quick search box on the grid, the metric appears even though it is outside of the root folder specified in the template report.
