BI Learning: Filtered Selectors vs. Standard Selectors

Muge Ergecen

Manager, Professional Services • Strategy

From MicroStrategy Education, this lesson teaches you to use filtered selectors on a dashboard created using the MicroStrategy platform.

In this tutorial, you learn the difference between standard selectors and filter selectors.  Standard selectors slide the data after the entire dashboard is fully downloaded to the client machine.  Filter selectors filter data elements before the dashboard gets generated and displayed.  Filter selectors enable the dashboards run faster due to the reduced amount of data returned to the dashboard.
