Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
The first page of our Dossier looks high level trends for Black Friday and the holiday shopping season. The bar chart on the left shows Black Friday is still the strongest shopping day of the holiday weekend. Additionally, only Black Friday and Thanksgiving Day saw an increase in the number of shoppers between 2017 and 2018.

Ever wonder if all all the hustle and bustle on Black Friday and the holiday season was for gifts? While the majority are, holiday decorations make up a consistent and significant portion! Since 2004, Holiday decorations have consistently been around 20% of holiday season spending, with gifts still making up the strong majority.
When it comes to giving, though, the focus is definitely on the family. People on average spend nearly 6 times as much on their family as they do for friends.

Holiday shopping is certainly riding the mobile wave, seeing as the percentage of internet sales from mobile phones has increased from 13% to 33% between 2014 and 2018. Even if people don't always buy from their phones, they're certainly browsing! In 2018, 47% of site visits were attributed to mobile phones.
