Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
SYMPTOM:
The following error appears when users try to edit or run a dossier with “Rich Text” added:
Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘indexOf’)
Check the JSON Result of the Dossier through fiddler or network trace, and search for the keyword “rv” for your “Rich Text”. The value is in the unexpected format: <plain text>â\nâ â <encoded text>
The expected format is: <plain text of><Separator><encoded text>. The separator here should be ⑆\n⑆⑀
CAUSE:
This is a known issue of Strategy Web 2021 Update 4. If the Rich Text is corrupted for some reason, the TypeError would be returned when users attempt to run or edit the dossier.
One of the possible causes of the corrupted Rich Text is that some component (such as the proxy server) between the client machine and web server changes the encoding of the separator.
ACTION:
The workflow of handling the corrupted Rich Text has been optimized since Strategy 2021 Update 5. If corrupted Rich Text is detected, users would be able to edit and run the dossier with the corrupted Rich Text set to blank.
