This technical note explains why the Change Journal option is enabled by default and cannot be disabled, in MicroStrategy 10.8.

SYMPTOM:
When accessing the Change Journal configuration for a project in Strategy Developer, Change Journaling always shows as enabled and cannot be disabled:

CAUSE:
This is working by design to support some newly introduced features.
