Error message:
“Cube can’t be created because there’s not too much disk space under path [path]. Available disk space is X GB and total number of disk space is Y GB. Make sure at least Z GB disk space is available and try again. Error in Process method of Component: CubeServer”
is received when publishing a cube even though there is excess disk space, and the cube is small enough to fit in the available space.
Note that free disk space is less than 10GB.
Beginning with Strategy 2020, Intelligence Server will use a single absolute value representing the left free disk space as a threshold to stop generating caches. The default value for release build is 10GB.
This new setting can be disabled through the registry. If the registry key value is set to 0, Intelligence Server will fall back to the old behavior.
More information: https://www2.Strategy.com/producthelp/current/SystemAdmin/WebHelp/Lang_1033/Content/cache_settings_behavior.htm
In order to fall back to the old behavior and avoid the 10 GB threshold, proceed to:
For Intelligence Server on Windows:
Add the following registry key on the Intelligence Server machine:
Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\MicroStrategy\Data Sources\CastorServer
Value name: Reserved Disk Space(GB)
Value data: 0
Restart Intelligence Server to load the changes.
For Intelligence Server on Linux:
Add the following entry to MSIReg.reg file on Intelligence Server:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MicroStrategy\Data Sources\CastorServer]
"Reserved Disk Space(GB)"=dword:00000000
Note: Please make sure you back up your MSIReg.reg file before making any changes.
Restart Intelligence Server to load the changes.
