Diwali Dossier

Amy Laresch

Product Manager • Strategy

Today is the first day of Diwali, the festival of lights! Check out this dossier on India created by one of our very own MicroStrategists to celebrate Diwali!

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
New Features & Functionality
The Diwali Dossier
Happy Diwali 2018 from Strategy! The Diwali celebration consists of five days. The five days of the festival are Dhanteras, Chhoti Diwali, Badi Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj. Diwali is celebrated by lighting up public and private spaces, including homes and temples. To provide more information (and celebration) on this special holiday, we decided to create a Diwali dossier.
Check out this dossier on India created celebrate Diwali!
What's on the first page?
This first page shows some pictures as well as a map of Indian states.
Users can click on each state name to see where it is located!

Diwali Across the Globe
The "People" page has a map with the top 20 cities by population, with Mumbai having the largest at almost 13 million and Arga with the smallest at 1.4 million. The heat map shows the top languages spoken in India with Hindi having the largest percentage of speakers at 54%. The bottom map shows the number of Indian students abroad, with about 166,000 Indian students abroad in the United States. Use the in-canvas filter to interact with the data. For example, you can filter to see which are the least popular countries for study abroad. With the dossier, hover over each section of the Sunburst to explore the breakdown of religions in India, with Hindu at 80%.

Touristic Attractions of the Diwali Celebration
The "Touristic Attractions" page can help you plan your India visit. The maps show where top touristic attractions and beaches are located. Feel free to hover over each bubble in the chart to see the reviewers' rating as well as the number of reviews. For example the Taj Mahal has the most reviews and has a perfect rating. Make sure to plan your next trip accordingly!
