KB485487: Dossier visualizations display missing and distorted when exported in PDF from MicroStrategy Web

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Symptom

In Strategy Linux environment, Dossier export to pdf suddenly doesn’t work for 5-6 dossiers.  The exported dossiers are extorted or missing visualizations (OOTB visualizations). 
For example, the dossier visualization from Strategy web is shown as below: 

While the PDF export shows amplified and distorted graph as below: 

NewExportEngine.log doesn’t indicate any error but only a warning on font as show below:

Cause

The New Export Engine is in version 2020 Update 3 while other components are upgraded to 2021 Update 2. This causes unexpected result.
 

Action

Upgrade New Export Engine to same version to match other components by following steps below: 

1. Launch the installation shield and select Modify install
2. Uncheck ‘Strategy Export’ to proceed

1. Then check ‘Strategy Export’ to install the new export engine. 

Workaround

Point the current machine to use other nodes' NEE by following steps below:
