SYMPTOM
Users may notice that duplicate cube instances are created after an intelligent cube that had a neutral locale is updated with a multilingual attribute. A multilingual attribute is an attribute that has at least one attribute form where the "Supports multiple languages" option is checked as seen below:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
The following steps can be used to reproduce the issue in the Strategy Tutorial project:
1. In the Tutorial project create a cube with the Year attribute. Publish the cube. Note that the cube has a neutral data language.

2. Edit the cube from step 1 and add the Category attribute. The cube now has Year and Category on it. Republish the cube.
3. In the cube monitor it can be seen that a second cube instance with an updated data language has been created. The previous instance does not get deleted.

CAUSE
This is a known issue in Strategy Secure Enterprise 10.x. The issue occurs because the Category attribute has an attribute form, Category (DESC), which supports multiple languages but the Year attribute does not have any attribute forms that support multiple languages.
ACTION
Contact Strategy Technical support for an update on the status of this issue. In order to ensure that the newer cube instance is used when running cube reports created from the cube users can manually delete the older cube instance from the cube monitor. KB425831
