This article explains how to tackle the common, generic error “Page rendering exceeded the maximum limit of XXX seconds and was terminated. Please contact the administrator to increase the timeout value of the renderer process in ‘configuration file and then restart Export Engine Service to try again.”

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
DESCRIPTION:

The error usually happens when a user is trying to export a Dossier which includes the 'Grid (Modern)' visualization with Microcharts, while having unselected the option 'Column Headers' in Format options so that the headers are not shown in the exported PDF document.

The export hangs for some time trying to create the exported PDF but then an error appears.
1. Once presented with a dossier containing at least 3 attributes and 3 metrics, with “Column headers” unselected

2. After choosing option “Export to PDF”, the process hangs and error message is shown:

ACTION:

This has been detected as a defect and has been fixed in Strategy 2021 Update 10. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of the fix.
