Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
SYMPTOM:
After typing a few letters in Search box for attribute element filter in Visualization, the list of elements are refreshed multiple times and the users have to wait for 3-5 seconds before the right list of elements finally listed in the box.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Create an Intelligent Cube which has at least 3000 attribute elements and publish the cube.
2. Create a Visual Insight or Dossier with the Intelligent Cube as a datasource, then, add the attribute in a grid Visualization.
3. Add a filter for the attribute and try locating elements by typing a few letters.
4. Notice that the list of element gets refreshed 2-3 times before the correct list of elements appear.
CAUSE:
This is a current limitation that the search for element takes place with each letter. The search behavior is expected to be enhanced to avoid a confusion in our future release.
ACTION:
Wait a few extra seconds before the final results appear after entering multiple letters.If the number of total elements are small (like less than 100), no delay may be noticed.
