With MicroStrategy's powerful exporting functionality, users can turn MicroStrategy reports, documents, and dashboards into portable, visually appealing documents stored in any of several widely used formats.

Strategy 10.6 introduces new capabilties that allow even more sophisticated graphical components to display in PDF export.

The Export Engine can handle everything from simple grid reports to dashboards with multiple visualizations. Formats available for export include PDF, HTML, CSV, Excel, text, Flash, and the MSTR file format. Excel exports can be performed with the "Excel with formatting" option, which produces an Excel file with the same formatting seen in the browser of Strategy Web. MSTR files allow completed dashboard files to be shared between users or even ported between different Strategy environments.

The exporting feature is easy to use: a user needs to simply choose the "export" option in  Web, Developer, or Desktop, and the file will quickly be made available on the client machine. Exporting functionality is useful for almost any business user, from analysts who need to do additional computations on an Excel spreadsheet, to managers who need printouts of weekly performance data, to executives who require intuitive, eye-catching visualizations for sales presentations.
