Strategy Education and Certification Frequently Asked Questions

What education certifications do you offer? 
Strategy Education offers a range of certifications to help individuals enhance their skills and knowledge in Strategy products. Some of the certifications offered include: 

• Departmental Analyst: Validate your core skills across Strategy’s reporting products to design and create reports and visual, interactive dossiers. 
• Administrator: Validate your core skills in configuring, securing, monitoring, and optimizing the intelligence platform. 
• Database Administrator: Validate your knowledge in key competencies to help you succeed as a Database Architect. 
• Enterprise Analyst: This certification validates your core skills in creating, sharing, and maintaining intelligent applications for the enterprise. Design and build reports, dossiers, documents, and Hyper cards.

When does my Analyst or Architect pass expire? 
Your Analyst or Architect pass is active for one year from the purchase date. If you purchased your Analyst or Architect pass via a quote, it is active for one year from the quote closing date.
When will I receive my Strategy certification results?
Certifications are graded within 10 business days. You will receive your result via email.
My coupon code is invalid, how should I proceed?  

• Ensure there is no extra space when you enter the coupon code.  
• If the shopping page is malfunctioning, try using Incognito mode, a different  browser, and/or switch off corporate VPN.  
• Reach out to your Strategy Account Representative to check your coupon status.

How soon or when can I retake my Strategy certification exam? 
There is a 15-day lockout period after your certification attempt. After 15 days, if your Analyst or Architect pass is still valid, you can relaunch your certification.
How can I access my Education environment? 
The Architect pass includes 12 hours of an AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment per month and both the Analyst and Architect pass include the Education Sandbox. Some classes, such as Project Architect modules, require a one-time use AWS environment. To receive an environment, sign up for the appropriate class, then follow the steps to request your environment. Similarly, the Sandbox-based classes contain the steps to access the Sandbox environment.
How many environments can I access in a month? 
Architect pass holders can access three practice environments per month. Each environment runs for 5 hours once you receive your Welcome to AWS email. Sandbox usage is unlimited. 
 
How do I access my certification environment? 
Once you sign up for a certification, environment creation can take up to 40 minutes. When the environment is ready, you will receive a Welcome to AWS email with your login credentials. 
 
I have an Analyst or Architect pass, but I am prompted to pay for training, how should I proceed? 
Try accessing your training with the direct link to the Education Portal: https://captivateprime.adobe.com/microstrategy1 
 
How do I start using an Analyst or Architect pass? 
We recommend browsing our Education website, https://www.microstrategy.com/en/education, and searching for the course you want to register for, or skills you are interested in learning. You can also look through the Education Catalog. For more details, watch the Pass Orientation video. 
 
How many attempts do I have to pass a certification? 
There is no limit to certification retakes, provided your Analyst or Architect pass is valid, and 15 days have passed since your last certification attempt. 
 
How long are Strategy certifications valid? 
Strategy certifications expire after 3 years. To update your skills, please check out our Education website, https://www.microstrategy.com/en/education for the latest offer. 
 
I can’t create an account on the Strategy website, how should I proceed? 
Try the following options: 

• Use Incognito mode 
• Use a different browser 
• Turn off VPN 
• Use another device 

Can I buy individual Education courses?   
We currently don’t offer individual course purchases. The two tiers of available subscriptions are the Analyst Pass and Architect Pass. You can find more information on the pass types in the Education Catalog available on our Education website, https://www.microstrategy.com/en/education    
 
How do I purchase an Analyst or Architect pass?   
Navigate to https://www.microstrategy.com/education and click the name of the pass you want to buy in the Purchase area. 
  
I passed my certification, when will I receive the certificate? 
You will receive your certificate within 48 hours (about 2 days) of passing your certification. If you have not received it after 48 hours, please email Education, education@strategy.com, with an alternative email address to which we can resend your certificate. 
 
Why can I no longer see some of the on-demand certifications, e.g. ANL, DVL?
