KB485857: Free-Form Button Migrate to A New Line Under Normal Tool Bar

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Symptom

In Strategy 2021 Update 6 and below, the “Free-Form” button sometimes migrate to a new blank row (under normal Tool Bar), which cause the visualization to move down. If there has a scroll bar at the bottom of the visualization, user cannot see it. If change the browser zoom size/screen size/resolution, issue could be resolved. 

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a dossier with Prompt (issue only occurs with Prompt Dossier)
2. Change the Screen Resolution/browser zoom size, here are some reproduction scenarios:
   
1. Screen size: 24’
2. Resolution: 100%
3. Browser Zoom Size: 125%

or
 

1. Scree size: 15’
2. Resolution: 125%
3. Browser Zoom Size: 100%

Cause

This is a known issue of Strategy Web 2021 Update 6 and below. Issue only occurs with Prompt Dossier as there have a “re-prompt” button in the Tool Bar, which will squeeze the “Free-Form” button under some size scenarios. 
 

Action

Upgrade Strategy to version 2021 Update 8 which has the issue fixed. 
 

Workaround

Change browser zoom size/resolution.
