KB483705: How to Enable Statistics Logging in MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager 10.x and 2019

Zeena Husayni

Director, Cloud Migrations & Technical Account Management • MicroStrategy

In MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager 9.x, the levels of Statistics logging are divided into Basic and Advanced Logging (not per statistics table). The level of statistics logging are controlled from the Project Configuration Editor under Statistics > General.

To log statistics in Strategy Enterprise Manager 10.x and 2019, perform the following steps.

  • In Developer, log in to the project source containing the project you want to log statistics for.
Note: You must log in as a user with the Configure Server Basic privilege.
  • Right-click a project and select Project Configuration.
  • In the Project Configuration Editor, select Statistics > General.
  • To log any statistics, you must have the Basic statistics setting enabled.
Note: By default, all checkboxes are cleared.

  • Select any of the Advanced Statistics Collections Options to:
    • Report job steps: Log statistics on the processing of each report.
    • Document job steps: Log statistics on the processing of each document.
    • Report job SQL: Log the generated SQL for all report jobs.
Warning: This setting can create a large statistics table. Select this option only when you need the job SQL data.
    • Report job tables/columns accessed: Log the data warehouse tables and columns accessed by each report.
    • Mobile Clients: Log statistics on reports and documents that are executed on a mobile device. If you select this setting, the following settings are available for selection.
      • Mobile Clients Manipulations: Log statistics on reports and documents that were executed on a mobile client as a result of a manipulation of the report or document.
      • Mobile Clients Location: Log location information logged from a mobile client.
  • Click OK.
