Perform a test of the connection to your MDX cube servers, separate from any Strategy dependencies, using the XMLA Connectivity Test Tool provided with your Strategy installation. In Windows environments, this tool can be used by running the XMLATest.exe file included in the Strategy common files. In UNIX environments, this tool can be used by running the command mstrxmlatest from the /bin directory within your Strategy home path.
When prompted by the tool, "Do you wish to use Kerberos authentication (y/n)," enter n. Strategy currently does not support Kerberos authentication with Essbase.
When prompted by the tool, "Please type the name of the DataSource on XMLA source. If unknown, just press key:," enter the datasource. Use the format: Provider=Essbase; Data source=172.16.196.190.
