Since ODBC driver for Tibco Data Virtualization is not a Strategy-branded driver. The following steps show how to configure ODBC driver for Tibco Data Virtualization.

Action

Begin by installing ODBC Driver for Tibco Data Virtualization for the correct operating system. For information on installation, refer to the Installation and Configuration Guide provided by Tibco Data Virtualization.
The directory where ODBC driver for Tibco Data Virtualization is installed should always be accessible to Strategy Intelligence Server.
The following set of instructions are divided into two sections: how to define the location of your environment and how to configure a DSN.

Steps to Define the Location of Your Environment

  1. In a Linux console window, browse to
    HOME_PATH
    , where
    HOME_PATH
    is the directory you specified as the Home Directory during installation. Browse to the folder env.
  2. Add Write privileges to the ODBC.sh file by entering the following command:

chmod u+w ODBC.sh

  1. Edit the
    ODBC.sh
    file and add the location of the directory where the ODBC Driver for Tibco Data Virtualization is installed. Within the
    ODBC.sh
    file, the following definitions are included:

TIBCO_DRIVER_PATH='/opt/Tibco/linux64'
if [ "${TIBCO_DRIVER_PATH}" != '<TIBCO_DRIVER_PATH>' ]; then
    export TIBCO_DRIVER_PATH
    mstr_append_path LD_LIBRARY_PATH "${TIBCO_DRIVER_PATH:?}"/lib
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
fi

Replace the path in the example '/opt/Tibco/linux64', with the directory path your Tibco Data Virtualization installed. Do not modify any other occurrences of <TIBCO_DRIVER_PATH> within
ODBC.sh
.

  1. Save the
    ODBC.sh
    file and remove Write privileges from the file by entering the following command:

chmod a-w ODBC.sh

  1. Restart I-Server

Configuration for DSNLess

  1. In the Linux console windows, browse to Strategy HOME_PATH where HOME_PATH is the directory you specified as the home directory during Strategy installation.
  2. Add following text into odbcinst.ini

[ODBC Drivers]
TIBCO(R) Data Virtualization 8.5=Installed
[TIBCO(R) Data Virtualization 8.5]
DRIVER=<Driver Path>
DriverUnicodeType=1
SSO=(Disabled)
CONNECTTIMEOUT=70

  1. Modify the value of the Driver with the location of the directory where the ODBC Driver for Tibco Data Virtualization is installed, e.g. DRIVER=/opt/Tibco/linux64/lib/libcomposite85_x64.so

Configuration for DSN

  1. In a Linux console window, browse to
    HOME_PATH
    where
    HOME_PATH
    is the directory you specified as the home directory during installation.
  2. DSN example for Tibco Data Virtualization:

[Tibco_DSN]
DRIVER=<Driver Path>
DriverUnicodeType=1
HOST=<Host>
PORT=9401
SSO=(Disabled)
DOMAIN=<Domain>
DATASOURCE=<Data Source>
CONNECTTIMEOUT=70

  1. Copy the section 2 into the
    odbc.ini
    file.
  2. Edit the DSN parameters HOST, PORT, DOMAIN and DATASOURCE, and modify the value of the Driver with the location of the directory where the ODBC Driver for Tibco Data Virtualization is installed. For information on the available parameters, refer to your third-party Sybase driver documentation. This can often be found along with the driver installation.
  3. Save the
    odbc.ini
    file.

For details on these DSN parameters, refer to the product documentation provided directly by the database vendor.
