How to post Discussion Questions

Learn best practices for creating discussion posts. Get your questions the attention they deserve for timely responses.

Hey Strategy enthusiasts,
Want your questions to be answered as quickly as possible? Try tagging them with categories that have a U code associated with them.
For example, Hadoop (HDFS + MapReduce) is a topic and has the U code 102

It can be found on the homepage under Gateways & Applications. Therefore, all discussions tagged with Hadoop (HDFS + MapReduce) U102 will show up under that page.

Why should this matter to you?
This ensures that your question gets posted on all relevant topic pages so that their owners are alerted and can assist you in a timely manner. You can still create custom tags that are more specific to your inquiry as long as you have at least one tag with a U code.
Now the owner of Hadoop (HDFS + MapReduce) will be notified and can answer the question.

It is absolutely alright to create your own tags as they get aggregated and future users can click on them to see what others have been saying. As long as you have at least one U code associated tag, your questions should get answered.
For example, excel files is not a category:

Nonetheless, others have also used that tag. Therefore, when you click "Excel Files," you will go to a pseudo-page where you can see other discussions people have created with that same topic.

If you find that questions still take a while to get answered, go to the overview page of the topic(s) you've tagged, note the name, go back to your post and comment while tagging the owner(s).
As per our Hadoop example, you could go back to your comment and tag Oliver. The page owner will either answer your question or direct you to someone who can.
