Why is this happening?

This defect is due to the incompatibility of MacOS 10.15.4 (and newer) and Nodejs 10.15.3, which is a component that will spawn a process to run the node command to get data when importing data from any of the connectors listed above. Under such condition, the node process will be directly killed, hence the error. As Strategy Workstation 2019 (and all available updates) use NodeJS version 10.15.3, it will show this error message with any MacOS 10.15.4 (Catalina) on Mac.

Solution

Upgrade Strategy Workstation to version 2020 or later, which already includes NodeJS version 10.20.1. This version is compatible with MacOS 10.15.4 and later.

Workaround

To work around this issue in Strategy Workstation 2019, you can do the following:

  • Use Strategy Web to import data from the desired data source instead of Workstation.
  • Use Strategy Workstation on a Windows OS machine, where the issue doesn’t occur.
  • Use Strategy Workstation on Mac, and connect to an environment (instead of local mode) to leverage the IServer to import the data.
