This article describes an issue in documents where column headers display in a grid viewed in Presentation Mode, even when the "show" column headers setting is disabled. This article also provides a workaround to this issue.

Description

In Strategy 2019 Update 3, you may notice that grids in a document display column headers even when the setting "Show" column header is disabled. This occurs when the the grid only contains attributes and the document is viewed in Presentation Mode.

Steps to Reproduce

  • In Web 2019 Update 3, create a document.
  • Add a grid to the document containing only attributes.
  • Right-click the grid and select Properties and Formatting.
  • In the dialog, select Grid.
  • Under the Headers section, ensure Show is un-checked for columns.

Why is this happening?

This is an identified defect in Strategy 2019 Update 3.

Solution

This issue is resolved in Strategy 2019 Update 4. Upgrade to Strategy 2019 Update 4 or later to take advantage of the fix.

Workaround

For an immediate solution, you can hide the column headers by adding a metric to the grid and then resizing its width to zero. This hides the column headers in both Presentation and Editable Mode.
