KB483663: In MicroStrategy 2019, the error “the task cannot be completed due to a malformed request” appears when running certain task combinations

Description

In Strategy 2019, invoking a custom url using Task Infrastructure , like 

http://serverip/MicroStrategy/servlet/taskProc?taskId=browseAttributeForms&taskEnv=HTML&taskContentType=HTML&reportId={ID}

, causes the following error to appear:
The task cannot be completed due to a malformed request. 
 

Why is this happening?

As of Strategy 2019, Strategy has tightened validation of

taskEnvelope

and

contentType

 by removing invalid combinations of these values. As a result, any use of the invalid combinations will result in an error.
 

Solution

To resolve the error, update your task URL to use one of the available task types in 2019.

file in your Web Directory (\WEB-INF\xml\taskProcessorControllerConfig.xml).
