In Web 10.x and 11.x, the Color By and Slicing features of an ESRI visualization created in a dossier and converted to a document are not maintained when the document is copied

In Web 10.x and 11.x, when a dossier containing an ESRI visualization with objects in the Color By and Slicing fields is converted to a document, copying that document causes the Color By and Slicing formatting is removed.

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

In Strategy 10.x and 11.x, users can create dossiers with the ESRI visualization. The visualization allows users to add objects to the Color By and Slicing fields to display more data on the map.

Dossier with ESRI Visualization

When a user converts a dossier containing an ESRI visualization to a document, the formatting of the ESRI map remains the same. However, if that document is then copied, the Color By and Slicing formatting are removed.

In the Visualization Gallery, select the ESRI Visualization.
In the Format panel, change the Type setting to Bubble.

Add Country to the Geo Attribute field.
Add Category to the Slice field.
Add Profit Metric to the Angle field.
Add Revenue to the Color By field.
Convert the dossier to a document. How?
Save the document. Notice the formatting is maintained.
Create a copy of the document.
Execute the copy of the document. Notice the formatting is removed.

Why is this happening?

This is an identified defect in Strategy Web 10.x and 11.x.
