This article addresses the invalid credentials errors that occurs when adding Azure Blob Storage account details. This article also provides a workaround to avoid this error.

Description

When creating a backup of a Strategy environment (following this document), you can provide an Azure Blob Storage account name and key to upload the backed up files. However, an invalid credentials error appears, as shown in the following screenshot.

The same issue occurs when running the tool in Prompted, Cloud, or Silent mode. This issue occurs even when the container name and access key are correct and have not expired.

Why is this happening?

This is a known issue with the Strategy Backup tool.

Solution

This issue is still being investigated by the Strategy Technology team.

Workaround

You should create a container called "

files
" within your Azure Blob Storage account. The error should no longer appear.
