KB486771: Is it possible to Configure MicroStrategy License Manager to Bypass Login Prompt in MicroStrategy 2021 Update 9?

Rainiero Leon

Support Engineer • MicroStrategy

This article indicates that currently is not possible to configure MicroStrategy License Manager to use 'Network Login ID Windows Authentication'. This is so because the MicroStrategy License Manager supports only the Standard authentication method.

Symptom

The Strategy License Manager is presenting a user and password login prompt despite 'Strategy Project Source Manager' being configured to 'use Network Login ID Windows Authentication'. This issue has been noticed with the 'Network Login' function performing as expected in Developer.

Cause

The observed issue arises because the Strategy License Manager currently supports only the Standard authentication method.

Solution

Unfortunately, with the current capabilities of Strategy License Manager, there is no direct solution as it does not support 'Network Login ID Windows Authentication'. As a workaround, consider advising the Strategy users to keep their License Manager credentials ready.
