How to replace an autostyle or modify a Report Data Option using the "Find and Replace" option available in MicroStrategy Developer

In Strategy Developer, users can use the option called "Find and Replace" to perform the following:

  • Apply an autostyle to a group of reports and templates.
  • Modify the following Report Data Options for a set of reports and templates:

    • Display: Null Values
    • General: Drilling
    • General: Page By

To use the "Find and Replace" dialog box, perform the following steps:

  1. Open Strategy Developer and log into a project.
  2. Select "Find and Replace" from the Tools menu.
  3. Select whether to work with autostyles or Report Data Options from the drop-down box under "1.Select."
  4. Select how to find the reports or templates to be modified. There are several methods of finding the reports and templates to work with:

    • Choose a set of reports or templates: The reports and templates to be updated can be manually selected. Click … to open the Select Reports and Templates dialog box, choose the targets, and click OK. The list of reports/templates in the Summary pane is updated.
    • Use the results of a search: An existing search can be used or modified or a new one can be created.
    • Search for reports and templates that are using the selected autostyle: An autostyle can be selected from the drop-down list or click Browse to find autostyles.
    • Apply to all reports and templates: Users can apply changes to all reports and templates in the project.

  5. Note: Not all find methods are available for all object types.

  6. Run the search by clicking the "Update Summary" button.
  7. Specify the new object or setting that replaces the old from the drop-down box under "3. Replace with."
  8. Click Replace.
