This article helps user who have lost their profile link to the "Everyone" group

In some cases, a user may lose their profile link to the "Everyone" group. For more information on the symptoms of this occurrence, refer to the following Strategy Knowledge Base document:
KB10036: “You do not have access privileges to project (project name)” error message appears after logging into a 3-tier project source in Microstrategy Desktop.
To resolve this issue, follow the steps below that illustrate how to use a backup of the metadata to restore the affected user:

  • Restore a backup of the metadata before the issue occurred and create a 2-tier connection to it:

  • Open both the Backup Metadata and the Current Metadata with 2-tier connections in Strategy Object Manager. Open both folders in which the user is located for each project source.
  • Click and drag the user from the Backup Metadata folder to the same User Group where the user is located in the Current Metadata.
  • When the Conflict Resolution screen appears, only select the User being replaced:

  • After the replace has completed, close Object Manager and log into the Current Metadata as the replaced user to confirm that they have been restored.
