Community Admin

• Strategy

Versioning

The term "versioning" has two different meanings in a Strategy context. The following clarifies these two possible meanings and their respective contexts:
CONTEXT 1 - Source control
"Versioning" may mean the requirement to implement an object version control system. This might include functionality such as:

  • Retaining a history of object versions
  • Reverting to a previous baseline version
  • Tracking changes between versions

A current enhancement request exists for this functionality. Contact Strategy Technical Support for the latest update of this request.

CONTEXT 2 - Slowly changing dimensions
"Versioning" may refer to a requirement for slowly changing dimensions.

The use of slowly-changing dimensions is described in the following Strategy Knowledge Base document:

  • KB5200-800-0479 - How to implement slowly-changing dimensions using logical views in Strategy
