SYMPTOM:

No projects were returned by this project source.
To set anonymous authentication, right-click on the project source, select the Advanced tab, and choose the 'Use a guest account (anonymous authentication)' authentication mode shown in the following image:

CAUSE:
The Guest user is a member of the Public group. By default, this user group does not have access to any projects in the project source.

ACTION:
To enable guest access to one or more projects in the project source, follow the steps listed below:

  • Change the authentication mode back to standard authentication by editing the project source, as shown below:

  • Log into the project source using an administrator login.
  • Navigate to Administration -> User Manager.
  • Right-click on the group "Public/Guest" and select Edit.
  • Select the "Project Access" tab.
  • Set the access and privileges desired for the guest login, as shown in the example below:

  • Disconnect from the project source.
  • Re-enable anonymous authentication.
  • Connect to the project source. The projects enabled in the Project Access tab should now be visible and accessible by the guest user.

Note: Depending on how Access Control List (ACL) permissions have been set up in each project, it may be necessary to change the object permissions to enable the guest users to interact with objects in the projects. Right-click on the object or parent folder, select Properties -> Security. Ensure that the Public/Guest user has permission to access the objects to which they should be allowed to interact, as shown below:
