There is NO difference between the 'Preserve lookup table elements' options under the VLDB Properties editor vs. the Report Data Options. They are exactly the same. Changing an option in one of the editors automatically reads the changes and is reflected in the other editor as well. The options are located in these two editors just for convenience. Choose from the following options:
 

• Default: Select to keep the corresponding report-level settings.
• Preserve common elements of lookup and final pass result table: Select to keep only the elements that exist in both the lookup and fact tables.
• Preserve lookup table elements joined to final pass result table based on fact table keys: Select to keep only the elements that are joined to the fact table based on fact table keys.
• Preserve lookup table elements joined to final pass result table based on template attributes without filter: Select to keep all attribute elements and ignore all related filtering conditions.
• Preserve lookup table elements joined to final pass result table based on template attributes with filter: Select to keep all attribute elements and apply all related filtering conditions.
• Restore Attribute Defaults: Click to restore the join type to the default attribute-level setting.

The same property available in the project level VLDB property editor is applicable to all reports created within that project. However, report level settings take precedence over the project level settings.
