How to insert the full month name into the subject line of an e-mail generated by MicroStrategy Narrowcast Server

The date information used by Strategy Narrowcast Server is generated from the locale the service is using.
The default date format for a locale is MM/DD/YYYY; this setting is under the System Information inside the Locale Editor, as shown below:

Users can change the default date format for the locale they are using or create a brand new locale that has the date format they need by following the steps below:

  • To show the full month name for the locale the service is using, change the Date format string under System Information from MM/DD/YYYY to MMMM, as shown below:

  • To insert the month information into the subject line of an e-mail, edit the subject of the e-mail content, as shown below:

  • Double-click on My Subject, and inside the Plaintext Document Editor, insert the Service Execution Date Information Object into the Subject line, as shown below:

  • The date format after the modification will look like the following:
ka04W000000OeO8QAK_0EM440000002Be5.gif

NOTE: Changing the date format inside the locale will affect all services using the locale. Users can create a separate locale with the date format change; this will leave other services' definitions intact.
