KB13072: How to activate installations when the MicroStrategy Intelligence Server machine does not have internet access

Strategy Intelligence Server Installation can be activated through the install routines or Strategy License Manager automatically.
However, sometimes the Strategy Intelligence Server machine is isolated and does not have internet access. In that case the activation must be done manually.
 
In order to proceed with a manual activation, follow the steps below:
 

1. Copy the Activation XML file (activate.xml) from the Server Installation that requires activation to a computer that has internet access.
   This file can be found in the following folders:
   
• Windows (default): C:\Program Files\Common Files\Strategy
• UNIX and Linux: $HOME_PATH
2. Log on to https://licensing.Strategy.com/ using either one of the Support Liaison user logins or the login provided with the software.
3. Choose to 'Activate a Server Installation' and provide the following information:
   
• The path of the Activation XML file that should be uploaded
• An email address that will receive the Activation Code. This email address will default to the Support Liaison's address
• An optional additional email address if required
4. Press the 'Submit' button to generate the Activation Code.
