KB13311: Real-time reporting features in MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager 9.x

Three real-time reports exist in the Strategy Enterprise Manager 9.x project. Administrators can obtain near up-to-the-minute information about their projects and server activity.
 
101. Recently Completed Jobs
102. Recent Sessions, Users
103. Recently Completed Scheduled Jobs
 
These reports are located in the 'Real Time Analysis' folder. In addition, there is a report services document, 'Real-Time Server Usage Dashboard', which provides a comprehensive overview of activity on the server machines.
 
These real-time reports access data from two views, IS_SESSION_MONITOR and RT_IS_JOB_MONITOR. These views are populated directly from the statistics tables, IS_SESSION_STATS, IS_REPORT_STATS and IS_DOCUMENT_STATS, at run time.
 
 
Notes:

• These views don't show information about jobs who's data has already been moved into the Strategy Enterprise Manager Warehouse fact tables. 
• The IS_SESSION_MONITOR view only shows data corresponding to those sessions which have not been moved into IS_SESSION or sessions which are currently open.

 
Such real-time analysis affords the following advantages:

• It reduces the need for frequent data loads. This is useful for administrators who wish to perform data loads less frequently.
• Currently, Job Monitor in Strategy Intelligence Server does not display jobs that have completed (either successfully or resulted in an error). Real-time reporting provides satisfies that requirement.
