This article discusses an error seen when copying a Freeform SQL Report in MicroStrategy. This issue occurs when not having the needed privilege to create the objects required for a Freeform SQL Report.

SYMPTOM:
When a user tries to copy a Freeform SQL report from public folder into the personal folder in Strategy Developer or Web, the following error occurs:

ka02R000000kVtgQAE_0EM440000002FXv.jpeg

You do not have access privileges to create objects of type 'Table'

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce this issue:

  1. Create a Rreeform SQL report as an administrator user and save it under the Public Reports folder.
  2. Log in as a user without 'Create schema objects' privilege.
  3. Copy the Freeform SQL report and paste the report to My Reports folder.
  4. The error above occurs.

CAUSE:
The user must have 'Create schema objects' privileges (under Common Privileges) in order to copy and paste the Freeform SQL report.
This is because with every Freeform SQL Report, there is a managed logical table that also exists.  When copying the report, a new logical table will also need to be created.

ACTION:
Grant the user the 'Create schema objects' privilege.

NOTE: After granting the user the 'Create schema objects' privilege, the user will be able to copy the report to their My Reports folder, but will only be able to edit at the grid level (for example, dragging objects between grid and report objects window). The user will not be able to edit the Freeform SQL definition unless the 'Use freeform SQL editor' privilege is granted.
