KB13698: How to provide MicroStrategy Technical Support with tables residing in DB2 UDB for iSeries database for troubleshooting

Sometimes Strategy Technical Support requires a copy of users' tables for effective troubleshooting. This technical note outlines the procedure to obtain those tables when they reside on a DB2 UDB for iSeries database. This database flavor is also known as DB2 UDB for i and was formerly known as DB2 UDB for AS/400.
 
The recommendation for providing these tables residing on DB2 UDB for iSeries database is as follows:
 
Use the CL command 'Create Save File' (crtsavf ) to create the backup file from the console. After the file is created, ftp the AS400 server and use binary mode to transfer the file to a local PC.
