‘Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 5 (Oracle in OraHome92)’ error occurs when users have Oracle as a database and try to execute reports in a three-tier project source in MicroStrategy Developer or in MicroStrategy Web

SYMPTOM:
Reports executed from a three-tier Strategy Developer 9.x and 10.x connection or via Strategy Web 9.x and 10.x fail with the following error when the warehouse database is Oracle:
 
2006-04-20 09:17:16.553-08:00 Connect failed. Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLDriverConnect. Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 5 (Oracle in OraHome92). Connection String: DSN=DSN_Name;UID=user_id;
CAUSE:
A reason for this error is that the user account used to run Strategy Intelligence Server does not have privileges to read the ODBC DSN to the Oracle warehouse database.
 
ACTION:
Add the account used to run the Strategy Intelligence Server process to the Microsoft Windows local administrators group.
