How to apply the Administrative Settings to multiple Web Servers in MicroStrategy Web

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.
In order to apply the same Administrative Settings to multiple Web Servers in Strategy Web, follow the steps below (for this example, it is assumed that the user wants to apply the Administrative Settings of Web Server A to Web Server B):

  1. Copy the following three files from the Web Server A machine located in the <Strategy Web Path>\WEB-INF\xml folder:

    • AdminServers.xml
    • sys_defaults.properties
    • sys_defaults_ServerNameA.properties
  2. Paste these three files in the <Strategy Web Path>\WEB-INF\xml folder of Web Server B.
  3. On Web Server B, rename the sys_defaults_ServerNameA.xml file to sys_defaults_ServerNameB.xml
  4. Restart web application server.

NOTE ABOUT Strategy WEB AND LIBRARY:
Strategy Library is our modern app that allows business users to view dossiers and documents all in one location. It's where we focus a lot of our strategic energy and current development resources and due to these reasons, it would be recommended the usage of our new Application.
For more information about the migration of files and their impact, refer to the links included below and go to the "Deploying a new war file" section:
