KB14424: Attribute elements are not alphabetized when deselected from prompt answer in MicroStrategy Web 9.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM:
When the attribute element is selected and then deselected from the prompt answer, the elements are not alphabetically sorted in Strategy Web 9.x and 10.x.
 
STEP TO REPRODUCE:
Follow the steps below to reproduce this issue in the Strategy Tutorial project:
 

• In Strategy Desktop 8.x, edit the Region attribute. Edit the description form to sort with ascending order, as shown below:
  

• Create a report that contains a prompted filter on the list of elements of Region.
• Execute report in Strategy Web 9.x and 10.x. When answering the prompt, elements should appear sorted on the left side, as shown below:
  

• Select a few elements and move them to the right, such as Canada, England, France, Germany, and Web. Then deselect a few elements by moving them back to the left, such as Canada and France. Notice the list is out of sorting order, as shown below:
  

CAUSE:
This behavior is by design in Strategy Web 8.x with a shopping cart style prompt when the Web preference is set to not keep item in list.
 
ACTION:
Enable the Web preference, Preferences -> General -> Cart Style Selection -> 'Keep item in list of available answers when making selections in cart-style prompts or filter editors', to allow the elements staying in order and not being removed after selection:
 
The available answers will stay on the left hand side even after selection, as shown below:
