Article outlines how to create as sequence metric to reflect count of rows in MicroStrategy Developer

Users may want to create a report with a sequence metric showing the count of the rows. The desired results show a sequence (1, 2, 3, ... n), as shown below:

To do this, follow the steps below:
 

  • Create a report with the attribute 'Region' and the metric 'Revenue'.
  • On the toolbar, go to Insert -> New Metric to create a derived metric, as shown below:

  • Execute the report.
  • After execution, right-click on the derived metric 'Sequence' and go to Sort rows by this column -> Ascending, as shown below:
