SYMPTOM:
When a user tries to edit a metric or access it in the Object Browser, they get the following error message in Strategy Developer 9.x and 10.x:
The user does not have Read access to this Role object (ID is `xxx`).
CAUSE:
One possible cause for this issue is that the object mentioned in the error message does not have the correct Access Control List (ACL). In this example, the object in question is a transformation and all ACL entries have been removed from the Transformations folder.
WORKAROUND:
Add the following default permissions to the parent folder and select 'Apply changes in permissions to all children objects':
